Now that contracts have been exchanged, it is down to the lawyers to sort out the final legal details, paperwork and searches in readiness for completion. Ideally, the only way in which either the buyer or the seller will be involved in this stage is to sign the completion documents – if any more involvement is needed, that means that a problem has arisen!
Often, this work will have been dealt with at an earlier stage, certainly if the parties are hoping to have a simultaneous exchange of contracts and completion
