We are very lucky in Tenterden to have an excellent infant school in the middle of the town. All the teaching and other staff are excellent, and the children receive a good start in their academic and social life, whatever their backgrounds.
The infant school has recently entered into a formal “collaboration” with the neighbouring Church of England Junior School, and each school is, as a result, sharing its best practices with the other, and consequently improving both. Whilst by no means a foregone conclusion, it is quite likely that, at the end of the collaboration period in 2012, the schools – after consultation with parents – will decide to form a “federation”.
